My work captures the harmony of the food chain surrounding the tiger, a keystone species crucial to the ecosystem. By regulating deer and antelope populations, this predator maintains healthy vegetation in the ecosystem that can support other herbivores like hares. The carrion tigers leave behind also serve to support scavenger populations, such as vultures, depicted on the left. Furthermore, a sizable riparian buffer zone maintains good water quality by trapping excess sediment and absorbing excess nutrients, providing a healthy environment for aquatic life.

The animal forms are fitted tightly together, curving and bending around the focal point to create radial balance and movement that draws the viewer’s eye around the piece. This dynamic reflects the actual food web interactions as well, as the species directly impacted by tigers are closest to the tiger and those indirectly impacted are further away.

Through this mural, I aim to celebrate the intricate beauty and balance of cross-species relationships through this mural.
